Glassman Project

PAMELA ANN GLASSMAN EDUCATION CENTER

at the Mental Health Association of Broward County

This program expands the educational capabilities of the Mental Health Association of Broward County while creating a vehicle to memorialize Dr. Pamela Ann Glassman, a psychologist whose life was tragically shortened as a result of bi-polar disorder.  After her death in 1998, Dr. Glassman's family and friends agreed to remember and celebrate her life in a way that would fulfill her goal to contribute to the health of others and to the welfare of the community at large.

The Pamela Ann Glassman Education Center promotes both public and professional education activities of MHA-Broward.  The Center hosts "Solutions", a cable television project providing timely and accurate information on a range of mental health subjects.  Each episode features local experts as well as individuals whose lives have been enhanced by mental health servicdes.  Joan Childs, Dr. Glassman's mother and the initiator of this concept, hosts the series.  Look for a listing of program themes and presenters on this site.

The Mental Health Association is a provider of continuing education for licensed professionals.  Look for upcoming program events on this Pamela Ann Glassman Center page of the MHA website.

Public lectures, workshops and educational series are also planned each year.  A listing will be posted on this site.
