PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS OF 2003
The Mental Health Association of Broward County produces yearly, a comprehensive directory of professional members as a community resource for mental health services. The following is a list of Florida Licensed Mental Health Professionals and the areas of interest.
Psychiatrist (ME or OS) are physicians who have a medical degree (M.D.) or a degree in osteopathic medicine (D.O.) with a specialization in mental illness.
Psychologist (PY) - have either a Ph. D. (Doctor of Philosophy) or a
Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) or an Ed. D. (Doctor of Education) from an accredited graduate or professional school.
Clinical Social Worker (SW)- have a Masters Degree (M.S.W.) from an accredited graduate school with a specialization in mental health services.
Marriage & Family Therapist (MT)-have a Masters Degree (M.A.or M.S. or M. Ed.) from an accredited graduate school with specialty coursework in marriage and family therapy
Mental Health Counselor (MH)- have a Masters Degree (M.A. or M.S. of M. Ed.) from an accredited graduate school with specialty coursework in mental health counseling.
School Psychologist (SS)- have either a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D or Psy.
D. or Ed,D.) or a Masters Degree (M.A. or M. S. or M. Ed.) from an accredited graduate school with specialization in child development, learning and behavioral disorders.
