GENETIC COUNSELING &
PATERNITY ESTABLISHMENT
Establishing paternity means legally determining the father of a child. If parents are not married to each other when the child is born, the child does not have a legal father unless paternity is established. The easiest way is for both parents to sign a form saying the child is theirs. Either parent can ask for genetic testing to establish who the father is.
