CHILD SAFETY TIPS
Never leave children alone or unattended in a car, public place, or grocery cart.
Teach children early their full name, address, and phone number with area code. Be sure they know in which state they live.
Teach children how to use the telephone, and how to dial the operator and to ask for police.
Keep an accurate record of friends and relatives addresses and phone numbers.
Encourage children to “buddy up” and go in pairs to the park or store.
Teach children to look for a policeman or other designated authority figure (store clerks) if they are separated from parents and get lost.
Teach children not to answer the door when home alone and not to allow strangers into the home.
Teach children never to take a ride from strangers or get close to an unfamiliar car.

Provides families with ID and fingerprint kit to properly describe the child including a recent photo, thumb- print, physical description, dental ID chart, personal information, and a DNA hair strand. The kit can be given to the police if a child is missing. ®
